The High Sierra Triathlon Club is proud to present the highest altitude triathlon!

Set in a beautifully scenic high alpine setting, the community of June Lake sits at 7,600 feet above sea level with breathtaking views of Carson Peak and the Sierra Range surrounding the nestled cluster of high altitude lakes: Grant, Silver, Gull and June.

RACE REGISTRATION DEADLINE: You must register by Saturday, July 5, 2008.
PACKET PICK UP FRIDAY ONLY: You must pick up your race packet on
Friday, July 11, 2008 between 12noon and 8:00 pm (12-4 at June Lake Swim Beach and 5-8 at Whoa! Nelly Deli).

NOTE: There is no registration for the race past July 5, 2008.
The race will be capped at 500 participants so register now!

leave campground area and Right onto Northshore Drive Right onto Highway 158 through the town of June Lake Sharp Right back onto Northshore Drive (across from June Mountain Ski Area) uphill Pass Aid Station #2 (Sprint Run Turn-around) Right onto Pinecliff road and down beach road to June Lake Swim Beach
RUN - 1.5 miles OUT & BACK Head to beach out of transition area Sharp Right up steep 4WD road Sharp Right to get to gate and paved road Sharp Left at green gate, Northshore Drive (paved road) Straight (hilly) out .75 miles to Aid Station #2 and SPRINT RUN TURN-AROUND

Triangular course starting at swim beach on one side of buoys and finishing at swim beach on the other side of buoys.

BIKE - 25 mile loop Left at Pinecliff Road (leaving beach and campground area) Right onto Northshore Drive Right onto Highway 158 through the town of June Lake Ride the entire June Lake Loop AID STATION just before Highway 395 and 158 intersection: At Highways 158/395 intersection FOOT DOWN STOP (REQUIRED)!!! At STOP sign going onto Hwy 395. Right onto Highway 395 southbound (uphill) Right onto Highway 158 (June Lake Loop south junction at Shell Station) Right onto Northshore Drive (1 mile) Left onto Pinecliff road (1/2 mile) Right onto beach road to June Lake Swim Beach

RUN - 6.3 miles
XTERRA STYLE. THINK WILDFLOWER AT 8,000 FEETThis is a very grueling, challenging run course on trail. Course is extremely hilly with a very steep uphill and downhill single track section.
Still, super scenic and gorgeous -- a trail runner"'"s dream! Definitely gives you the flavor of trail running in the High Sierra..On par with Wildflower but at 8,000 feet!
Run Course Detailed Description:
Head to beach out of transition area
Right headed north onto single track trail along lake
Sharp Right up steep 4WD road
Sharp Right to get to gate and paved road Sharp Left at green gate, Northshore Drive (paved road)
Straight (hilly) past 1.07 miles to Aid Station #2 and SPRINT RUN TURN-AROUND Cross road here. Sharp Right up 4WD road leading to Snow Ponds Trail At intersection of 4WD road and single track is Aid Station #3 Left up very steep single track (1/4 mile approximately) Follow single track trail at top (1.5 mile approximately of flat/slightly uphill/rolling single track, pass 2 ponds on right) Continue on trail loop (down 1/2 mile steep, technical and rocky) Aid Station #4 is at bottom of 4WD road Left back onto single track paralleling Northshore Drive Continue on 4WD road paralleling Northshore Drive Meet pavement/Northshore Drive - now backtracking over run course. Straight past Aid Station #2 (and now #5) and road crossing Right back down steep 4WD road at gate Follow same trail back down (very steep) Left back onto single track to beach and FINISH LINE!

DIRECTIONS TO JUNE LAKE:
Just 30 miles south of Yosemite, 14 miles north of Mammoth Lakes and 5 miles southwest of Mono Lake, June Lake is a hidden jewel of California!

From L.A.: 5 North to 14 North to 395 North Turn LEFT at June Lake South Junction/HWY 158/June Lake Loop (west side of Highway) - at the Shell Station.

From San Diego: 15 North to 395 North Turn LEFT at June Lake South Junction/HWY 158/June Lake Loop (west side of Highway) - at the Shell Station.

From Reno: 395 South Turn RIGHT at June Lake South Junction/HWY 158/June Lake Loop (west side of Highway) - at the Shell Station. .

DIRECTIONS TO JUNE LAKE BEACH: Official Race Site, (site for Friday packet pick up 12-4pm and 2pm race  orientation)                                                                    Once on June Lake Loop/Hwy 158, turn Right onto Northshore Drive at Oh! Ridge area.
1/2 mile turn Left onto Pine Cliff Road
1/4 mile turn Right onto Beach Road (sign to beach)
.1 mile into the first parking lot on right

DIRECTIONS TO WHOA! NELLY DELI (Friday pre-race dinner, 5-6pm Orientation & 5-8pm packet pick up) Head North from June Lake on Hwy 395 approximately 10 miles. Turn left at Tioga Pass (Highway 120) - east entrance to YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, just south of Lee Vining. Turn at first left into Tioga Gas Mart (Mobil Mart) and Whoa! Nelly Deli. Outside seating on lawn overlooking Mono Lake.

DIRECTIONS TO OVERFLOW PARKING at JUNE MOUNTAIN:
There is very limited parking on Northshore Drive in some designated dirt areas. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO parking along Pinecliff Drive. You must park in the June Mountain parking lot for overflow parking and shuttle to race unless you are parking in the designated Northshore Dr dirt spots.
From swim beach head out on Pinecliff Road.
Left onto North Shore Drive.
Left onto Highway 158 (June Lake Loop) at STOP sign.
Immediate Right into JUNE MOUNTAIN parking lot.

SHUTTLE RUNS every 15 minutes between overflow parking lot and race. Shuttles are equipped to take bikes.
